After the completion of the Katra-Banihal rail link in 2025, Indian Railways started operations of the Srinagar-Jammu Tawi Vande Bharat Express services (2 running a day).
The two services operate between the rail hub of Jammu Tawi station and Srinagar via Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Banihal. The recently constructed engineering marvels on the route include the Chenab Bridge, the Anji Khad Bridge and the Banihal tunnel.
The passengers have to go through a check-in procedure before boarding any of the two trains. Platforms 6 and 7 at Jammu Tawi station have been dedicated to accommodate these trains. Meal options are available on both the trains.
